There aren't many women who don't have a hair dryer. It's a critical piece of equipment when you're getting ready in the morning. I've discovered on many occasions that you must have a good one so your hair doesn't frizz, it gets dried quickly and the dryer must be reliable so it doesn't burn up on you. I've had three dryers quit working on me and I'm often left without a backup. Because of that I went looking for a really good dryer and here's what I found.

1. Regardless of which one you get, buy a cheap backup unit and put it in your closet. Even the best dryer can die unexpectedly from a factory defect. You don't want to be left with your beauty ritual half finished while getting ready for work. There aren't many good alternatives. Your backup dryer should be a $10 cheapie that you get at Walmart or something. Just enough to get you by.

2. I've discovered that the ionic dryers really do cut the drying time in half. I used to think it was a marketing ploy, but trust me, this one is true.

3. There are several good brands on the market, but the one we're featuring here is by Hot Tools. You want one with a high wattage, at least 1875 watts, and something that has a good warranty. Most are 1 year, but if you can find a 2 year warranty that's much better.
